The Kludt family's dream...
I have lived here in the Lake Chelan Valley for almost 30 years. For the first 25 years I focused on growing apples and cherries. In 1998 my family and I decided to make a drastic change. We took out most of our Red Delicious apples and planted wine grapes. Now, eight years later, we have 22 acres planted with 10 different varieties of grapes. This year we crushed 40 tons of grapes, all from the Lake Chelan Valley, right here in Manson.
When you come into the Lake Chelan Winery you will probably see either my wife Bobbi or myself around making sure that everything is running smoothly. Bobbi manages the tasting room and is the gift buyer for the winery. My son Jonathon and I work together to grow, pick, crush and ferment the grapes. My daughter April (Kludt) Williams is in charge of the marketing and advertising and my mother-in-law Betty Waldron often brings fresh flowers from her garden to brighten the checkout counter. Obviously this is a family run winery, where we all work together to make it better every day.
The Lake Chelan Winery is definitely a family dream come true. Please stop in, we look forward to meeting you and sharing our dream (and our wine).
